KNOWLEDGE ABOUT LAW AND LAWERS IN AUSTRALIA : In Australia practice many different kinds of law, which can be divided into set groups. Firstly, Australian law consists of common law, which is based on the English common law system. Following from this, there are also federal laws enacted by the parliament of Australia and laws enacted by the various state and territory governing bodies.

The most important law in Australia is the Constitution of Australia, which forms the basis of the Australian government. Naturally, some lawyers deal specifically in constitutional law, and though there is no Bill Of Rights in the Australian constitution, the parliamentary system is seen as enough to protects the freedoms and liberties of the Australian people.

Unlike in the United States, Australia has a single binding common law that lawyers around the country practice. Historically, Australian law has been heavily linked to the English legal system, but in recent times there has been notable distinctions between the two.
