Regulatory Roles and Responsibilities

Malaysia’s banking and insurance sectors come under the jurisdiction of the Central Bank, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) while the capital market is regulated by the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC). Matters related to offshore finance industry in Labuan are regulated by the Labuan Offshore Financial Services Authority (LOFSA). On the stock market side, Bursa Malaysia is the main regulator and regulates and operates the trading activities in Malaysia.
