Shares in Westpac Banking Corp have entered a trading halt pending an announcement about the outcome of a court case in New Zealand.
Westpac said on Wednesday it will soon be making an announcement about the case involving NZ structured finance transactions between itself and the NZ Inland Revenue Department.
The judgment is being delivered this afternoon, however it will be subject to a binding order of the NZ High Court preventing publication until 1000 AEDT on Thursday.
Westpac has requested the trading halt remain until 1100 AEDT on Thursday at the latest.
